That is the factory "Rust Stopper Plug". I read about it in Pano years ago. When it falls out, rust starts.
...never have seen one in place before. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)

we almost have a winner! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)

too bad i don't see you on the WCC list (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ...

My guess is that it's a plug that seals off fog light mounting holes on cars that don't have fog lights installed.

this is close enough!

now WE HAVE A WINNER !!!

tadaaaa, here it is:

it's a plastic cap that is glued into the mounting nut/thread for the additional (optional) second horn on the passanger side.
the part is crucial to keeping our cars on the road because if omitted, water will enter the area under the headlight bucket and rust trough the front mounting point for the A-Arm.

come to the WCC and collect your prize!

plug that covers drain hole, lower front engine
compartment. AKA "hell hole" plug. If you dont
remove it water won't drain, rust starts, car falls
apart.

I knew that useless knowledge would come in handy someday!

I would love to make the WCC but it aint happenin' this year. I guess we can tip a "virtual one" or, maybe I should take bids for transfer rights! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well, I have that plug on my car with different numbers, It is no where near the size of a quarter, its not even as big as a dime. Take a picture of it by a quarter, I was looking everywhere for that part and found one this morning that looked like it but was way too small I said to myself, because Andy said it was just a little smaller than a quarter.

You trust comparison to a quarter from a German?
What do you expect? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well Andy, I went through a six pack looking for that plug. Since we the loosers do not get the WCC prize, can we at least get an asprin?
