Pulled all weatherstriping for full paint job. Rubber is soft and plyable, but varied degrees of overspray from PO. Would like to clean up and darken color. Suggestions? Also, it seems that the striping had been held in place with a sticky substance that balls up when removed. NAPA/Permatex has a weatherstrip adhesive that reads to be a permanent attachment. Spray on both surfaces and after short set up time press together. Sounds as though would be hard to reposition or remove cleanly. Suggestions on this, also?
