I like the rims!
I hope to try it at a track day sometime. I just want to get through a summer first and enjoy it just in case I am little hard on it...

You're absolutly correct on taking the time to learn your 914
I got mine when I was 25 ('85)
I heard someone mention it takes two years to learn how to drive a Porsche.
wasn't kidding, gotta find the 'Sweet spots' in our 914's it what makes them special

Great story. BIG congrats.

I think alot of us can learn a very valuable lesson from your story. Here is what stuck in my mind; Rent the rotissari (or jack stands). That way every time you have to make that rent payment you get inspired to finish your project! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

So I got to bed at about 1 last night after helping my friend at racing. He races 358 Modifieds on Dirt Track racing. He is the same age as me and is doing pretty well.

Anyway the weather was 100% ran today. Just woke up, took a peek and the sun is shinning! Its down to 40%.

Now my date and I can go topless (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sunglasses.gif)

A cannot tell you how impressive it is for you to have met that deadline! You gotta put that in your resume when you apply for summer jobs.

Have fun tonight (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) ! but not too much (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grouphug.gif). And no (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif) until the teener is back in the garage!

For summer entertainment you might want to check out http://www.stlac.ca/Events.htm SMP is the Shannonville Track. About an hour and a half drive from your place. 5 minutes off the highway just past Napanee.

Well, here are some pictures!

It was alot of fun. Everytime I looked people were in front off the car getting pictures. Some I didn't even know. Lots asked about it too, including the ladies (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sunglasses.gif) In the end it was a great hit, many said it was the best entrance! It made the last 10 months worth it in that 2 hours. No rain either. Then of course I parked it back in the garage and had a sweet all nighter celebration with my classmates. Excellent job. It's fantastic to see young folks tear into cars like us old guys had to do when we were young.

To most kids today, working on your car means buying new wheels, cold air intake, a chip, a fart can, and a stereo.

Your car and your lady look beautiful. You clean up pretty good too.

Way to go! My middle daughter just finished her second year of ME at U de M in Moncton, she is a "car person" as well, just back from the super mileage competition in Michigan where she is the team driver, she was the the first person I let drive my teener. I am very interested to see your car when it is complete, it looks great right now and I really like the colour.

Getting their! I made a deal with the parents. If I get over 80% on my final courses, I am allowed to get another roller. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) Its looking good so far. So like I mentioned I have a few friends that race dirt cars so finding a tuned 350 won't be hard. So that's this summers project. Although with the budget it will be just a roller and full cage this summer. I will be off to school in September so it will be stored in the barn for the winter. I will start a project thread soon as I start a small collection of parts. ( Donations welcome (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) )

As far as driving my teener, its parked for now in order to focus on my marks. I had one day insurance for my grad then full insurance goes on this Sunday.

$8000 a year for insurance for me..... so its under my dads name and his truck has to go off the road for the summer so its brings it down to $315 a month just for 2 months this year. I have a daily drive Honda civic that he will drive in its place.

Oh well, either way I have a busy summer a head of me with 2 jobs. One as a machinist and another as a mechanic at a industrial farm. I can't wait!!!!! I would rather be busy than looking for something to do!

Drive on!

Parker
