I have a few semi related questions. I have a 1.7 with a unilite electronic distributor, MSD, and carbs. Every so often when my car is not running, if I turn the key to acc. and then back to off, when i switch back off it seems like my plugs fire and the engine turns slightly. It will do it a couple of times then stop. do I have some wires crossed? (The car runs fine) Also, the tach adaptor box for the MSD seems to get pretty hot, is this normal? One more, Right next to the coil I have this little black box with one wire coming out of it that started to melt so I unhooked it and nothing changed, anyone know what this is? I can get a picture if needed.

My car, with an ancient Allison optical ignition trigger, does the same sort of thing. I always figured it was some quirk of the ignition system.
