I've got some rust holes in the /6 muffler. Although it sounds good, what's the best way to fix them? Especially since I think /6 mufflers are NLA.

if they're little, braze them with a MAPP gas torch. if they're bigger, it's more difficult. i've been patching a couple of sections of heat exchangers with brazing rod and patches cut from cat food cans - just keeping them in the game until i can save my nickels and dimes for stainless...

the 'special' part of a /6 muffler is the tailpipe tip angle - cut that off your existing muffler and weld it to a 911 muffler - ta da ...

Oh, crap! Now I have to get a cat! The wife'll never believe this - "Yes, dear, I picked up Tinker Bell at the pound to fix a rust hole in a muffler."

Seriously, thanks, Rich for the ideas. Moving the tip to a 911 muffler should be simple.

There's a listing in the current Performace Products catalog for /6 mufflers so I was mistaken that they were no longer available.
