I posted this photo by mistake on another topic and it got some interest. This is the intake the PO used in lieu ot the air cleaner. It is a pvc "T" with a pair of K & N filters and filter "socks" [sort of double duty you know]. One of the vacuum connections to the assembly is capped and was connected to the engine near the #2 cylinder [and it's open]. I am not sure what effect it's having on performance but I did connect it at one time and it's not apparent if there's a change.
Any thoughts? Attached image(s) |

I think it looks kind of cool. If it were me, I think I would change the PVC and make one from a polished aluminum tube in the same design and run it just like that. As for the vacumme tube, leave it hooked up, it must have been there for a reason. I am assuming you are running the stock fuel injection on this. It may be a better mouse trap.

I agree...I am just curious as to why he went to the effort of capping the bugger, perhaps better engine breathing [since it's tired]? It makes a nice hiss when you shut it down.[the breather that is].
And yes...the injection is stock. |

Any thoughts? cylinder head ventilation ... if you can't feel any difference, hook it back up! it'll help to relieve pressure from your engine and burn any excess fumes through the intake. can't hurt.
