Looking to get a new targa seal at the windshield, the long shelf-like rubber thing which "snugs" the front of the targa to the windshield frame.. does 914rubber.com make one I couldn't tell from the site. Who makes a good one? Is it more than one piece?
Thanks! |

Yes, 914rubber.com has them. At least Mark made a run several months ago. Maybe they are all gone. I got an OEM part from AA when George got a batch in last summer.

is that what I need?
difficult to tell from the description, no? "This is NOT the 3 part seal that goes along the top and sides of the front windscreen. it is the one below it." |

There are two seals. One of them goes along the windshield frame, and extends down on both sides of it. The top slips into the middle part of the seal, and the wing windows close onto the side parts of it.
There is another seal, that goes on the windshield frame, just below the first seal. Sounds like the one Mark has is the second one. You got pics of what you need? We can tell a little easier with pics... --DD |

I have both. This picture may help to clarify how these fit.
I do make both, an my main (upper) seal is much easier to install that the OEM as the clip floats making the installation much easer as with the other you can't adjust the "fit" by sliding the rubber side to side. this also allows for the seal to be longer than require so that when it shrinks over time it will not tear the corners. So Mark--just to clarify--is this the one that's hanging off in the picture above? My seal is "getting there" too but I've been trying to replace other stuff that's further decayed first...
