Like many, I picked up my 914 from West Coast, and it had seen it's share of customizing (bastardizing), but who really knows how it was first brought into this world?
I cannot even determine color from door jam plate.
Is there some data base for the FOUR CYLINDERS???

I love my car but very curious.
help?
thanks

Early car, probably manufactured in 2005 & badged as a 76.

Don't know the car, but a COA should tell you everything (hopefully).

Hmmm. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) Does your car not have a door jamb plate that would show the color code and chassis number?

a CoA will tell you some things, but not all.

It will tell you;

Year
Color
Interior
Engine #
Options

That's about it & a lot of times the options are incorrect

they used to tell you the Importer, sometimes the Dealer, but with Privacy Laws, they no longer do

Back in the Day, you could go to your DMV and do an Owner Search, but I know of no DMVs that still allow this.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) .... and PCNA staff may even get the colors right.....or not - it took 3x & my research to correct their error on reading interior color!

In addition to the 914 color coeds at the 914 info button at the top of this website, the p914.com paint colors section has pix of cars in the colors for most all years & colors.

Try to read the stamped number code from the Karmann Plate on the driver front door jamb/post - it's in the lower silver box.
