Upon the strong advice of folk on this site, I have found a 050 distributor so I can now throw the 009 on my 74 914 carbed engine in the pond [after getting an EPA permit first, of course]. Any do's or don't's would be appreciated before I start the process [and this is the first time I will be trying this particular maneuver.] In particular, is it easy to find and set the new dizzy to the TDC position?
Thanks.

If you get the motor to TDC before you pull the 009. You should be able to drop the 050 right in. Set the timing and let 'er rip. Caution these distributors have been put in 180 out and you will never get things right. So pay attention (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif)
