I want to know how they are doing them. I think clear rear lenses would look ok on certain color cars.

maybe a plastic wolfsburg castle crest cut out to go over the top? clear is cool, but you would need a little soy sauce on those. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Hello Board,
Well I would not go so far as to call them gross. Or the fact they are on ebay "evil" But im sure they are not for everyones taste!
Im just trying to do something a little different with a technology by offering custom Lenses. I had a special request for such an item and it turns out a few others were interested in that item as well.
I am working on taillight lenses in clear for 914 as well comming next month

I saw something on Pelican that if you dip the colored plactic in an acid it will take all the color off of it and you will now have a clear lens.

I gotta give him credit. He took something that people wanted and ran with it. Probably not my choice of lenses, but there was a small demand that he took care of. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap56.gif)

Mr. Clauss, while I might not think they are the product for me, I applaud your efforts on the Car's behalf, and thank you for your work.

I hope that you move enough to make a profit, and perhaps make even more variations on the theme.

Thanks for your note,,
Yes almost any thing is possible , Ihave done lenses in yellow and blue to match paint, Metallics .etc. It may seem illegal But the tint is very slight when red or orange bulbs are installed they still apear red or orange.
But you never know if you had a cop that wanted to find something wrong!

So, do people send you their lenses, and you chemically(??) alter them? I would like my fog lights to have a yellow lense, and dont want to pay the Auto Atlanta price. Only thing is, they are glass lenses. Could you do this?

Thanks Clauss for respoding to the post.

It was me who emailed you about the clear lenses.

I seriously think you could sell a few hundred of them.

You might think about duping the factory red ones for a reasonable price also.

Please write back to the board when you have something ready.

I also applaud your efforts for taking the time to look at the 914 for possible products.

Let's further enrage the DOT. How about having the fluted (Italian?) side markers and $850 French taillights reproduced? Smoked taillights probably wouldn't be too bad either.

On some colors and cars I think that smoked lenses add a lot of class. I smoked the taillights on my Lexus and I think it looks awesome. Don't know how it would look on a 914, but there is only one way to find out . . .

I've asked her to, but she says she needs the money to go to college.

Sheesh, give her a break, she is just trying to make a better life for herself.
