What pressures is a good starting point for the V-700's. I just purchased a set and will begin to use them next weeKend.
Thanks

Haaa - what pressure??? - the never quite answered question.

For A/X most start at the low 30's cold. For Track most start at the mid 30's.

For A/X the lower pressure is sticker when the tires are "cold", as they do not get a chance to get to thier optimum 170-180 degrees.

For the track the higher pressures run the tires "cooler" after they have warmed up. The track will get the tires to the 180 degree range.

That being said, the Caster will also effect what pressure to run.

For standard Caster start at 35 pounds "cold" and then lower the pressure 2 pounds at a time, after each run, until the car "sticks" the way you want.

You can also chalk the side of the tires and lower the pressure untill you see the tire "rolling" on to the side wall then up it a little.

There is no easy answer.

Keen,
Thanks for the reply. I have never used the Kuhmo before and going from an old set of
BFG- R1's. I know the R-1's had a stiffer sidewall and I ran them in the 27lb range. With your infor I will start in the mid 30's.
Thanks
Van

For Track most start at the mid 30's.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) Mid 30's is much to high for my car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/Yack.gif)
My base line number is to start with 27 front and 29 rear and adjust from there depending on how the car handles.

See - it is the unanswered question.

Almost everbody is a little different. Different brands, style of tires, car setup, and driving skills will use different pressures.

My car likes equal pressure in all 4 tires, others like the front and rear to be different.

Front-to-rear pressure difference will effect Oversteer & Understeer which should also be taken into accout while setting the pressure.

Just keep tweeking till the presure matches your driving requirments.
