I had the same problem when I first got my car. The PO used armorall on the dash, & it caused a film to keep coming back. Once I cleaned all that shit off the dash, a few windshield cleanings got it clean, and it stayed clean.

I've had this problem on a great many cars, and it's usually down to fumes being given off my the interior materials. Sometimes Armor-All or another "protectant" will cause this, sometimes it's the vinyl in the seats. Seems to be worse if the car sits in the sun regularly. I'll have to dig for the details, but I'm told Ford used to make a spray-on coating that would cure this. Perhaps you can ask at a Ford dealer if I can't find the info.

I have the same problem but on all the windows. Based on a previous post and the fact that mine leaks oil I believe that it is my push-rod tube seals leaking onto the HE's and coming through the vents. BTW, cleaned my windows 5 times yesterday and still can't get it all off.

Don't use ArmorAll, use 303 Protectant.

Stay away from glass cleaners that contain ammonia. I've been using WURTH Glass Cleaner and it really does a nice job. It's a streakproof formula that comes in an aerosol foam.
