Cleaning up the engine bay while I wait for my new (rebuilt) relay board and want to clean up the fuel injector control unit. How does the cable detach? Haven't pulled on it and it is still hooked up but I have removed the brackets for cleanup and painting.

Take cable clamp screw out and flip the 1/2 retainer out of the way. You may or may not have a couple of small retaining screws in the plastic - remove them. Slide the cover off towards the cable inlet. This will expose the plastic loom connector. Grab the handle and pull ... plastic handle may break.

The plastic loom retainer should also have two screws holding it to the box.
