Hello all,

A ways back I switched my HEs from the stock 1.8 setup with catalytic converter to a 2.0 setup with Bursch exhaust. I've had popping on decel ever since, been chasing exhaust leaks, but everything seems good.

My question is about the thin pipe that ran from teh decel valve, through the firewall to the o2 bung on the cat...I just cut it off near the firewall since there is nothing to hook it up to...and it was rusting apart anyways. I didn't block it off though...would that lead to popping on decel?

thanks!

sounds like the EGR, not the decel. You need to block off the pipe.

thanks Cap! I actually wondered if it might just be the Bursch, but I found a few videos of 914s with Bursch exhausts on YouTube, and none had the flatulence my dear little girl is afflicted wtih. I can't find any holes or cracks in it, would a "sound" Bursch still pop on decel?
