Had just enough time today to pull the engine out of the race car this morning. This will be the start of home engine building 101.
Scary..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Next weekend I'll start the teardown...I'll post pics of what is broken inside. Bill P. |

What's with the big smile on your face? You're supposed to be looking grumpy.
I've got mine pretty well torn down. Tomorrow: Split the case. Demick |

Hay, it's easy to smile at this point.
I get grim when it's time to light off the new rebuild. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon8.gif) |

I'm already wondering how it will be to light off the engine....and have the horror of missing something in the rebuild and the engine detonates.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)
But....I'm too far along now...so I'll just have to grip it and rip it! Am I supposed to have any parts leftover???? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Bill P. |

Hi Andy,
How is your engine coming along? I hope there is light at the end of the tunnel...or at least spark! Bill P. |

QUOTE(nine14cats @ Jul 17 2004, 11:45 PM) The "fun" begins when you get a box of stuff containing a "rebuild kit" (which, IMO, is the best way to go). I opened the box......gulp (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) ....well fuck me stupid.....lookit' all this stuff (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) This ain't no small block Chebby. Left over parts: If they look important, they prolly are (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I know....I've done small SBC's, and they still loook like an engine when torn down. Now a Porsche motor is a different animal...19 eleban parts and nylock nuts...and a case that splits? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Where's my air rachet...I've got to start the tear down.... Bill P. |
