62 liters (16.4 US gallons) including approx 6 liters / 1.6 gal reserve -- syas the spec book ...

Not really, that is why they had a 100 liter tank option. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
In reality, it made long distance cruising possible. You know a bit about long distances between gas stations. I did also when I used to drive across Ontario.

62/3.785= 16.380449 US gallons....assuming it's full.

Just under 500 miles per tank IF your 1.7 gets 30mpg.....I know MY butt would be sore after 300.

The 912E had the larger 911 tank and the T4 motor....used to hold the record for stock P-car mielage per tank.....
