OK, I've got a few years experience with these cars, like 39 years.
Forgot a few things and I still find things I never knew, like this:
914/4 and 914/6 have a part number 914.555.047-10
1973 and later cars have a -12 suffix.
I have panels taken from both and can't tell the difference although
who knows if one had been replaced in the last 41 years.

Any information?

Thanks in advance. Brad

If memory serves me (it has been know to fail frequently). There is an indentation on the back side near the middle that lines up with the MY 73 and on fiberglass roof, thus the -12 difference. I'll sort through my extra roofs and see if I can snap a pic. I don't think there is any visual surface differences.

(Your next reply is sure to prove me wrong. <sigh>)

Jasfsmith, The vinyl piece in question is attached to the windshield frame but your note on the roof might be a clue. The 1974 roofs were redesigned to offer more crash protection with the vinyl strip you are referring to. Maybe a subtle difference in the padding at the 1973 break on the strip in question?
