Windshield install in SoCal?, Got a shaded Sigla - Have all the parts Options

I live in OC. Got that shaded Sigla for 509 delivered. I have the 19 pegs and two spacers. Anyone have a map of where each item goes?

I wonder if anyone knows a pro in SoCal that can remove the old one, put in a new one, and not screw it up?

I have to get the new lower windshield seal from Mikey, but I assume the installer will have the butyl to put it in.

Suggestions welcome for SoCal!

Nice, John. I'll be installing mine this week. So $70 less than what I paid up here makes me feel better; I was waiting for someone in the US to post it only cost three or four hundred bucks down there.

Several of us in SoCal have used Rufino from RJ Glass. Knows 914 install really well and knows how to handle the chrome trim without mangling it. He did my windshield with new chrome and rear window a few months ago. Great job. Here's a thread that includes his contact info.

Pretty darned easy DIY job... I did mine by myself but two people are best.

The clips go in the holes. Pretty self explanatory once you have the old windshield out and the butyl cleaned up. I would consider replacing your dash vinyl while you have it out since it is easiest done without the windshield in place. Once the clips are in place, put the butyl in place and then drop the windshield in place being careful to space it evenly all the way around. I bought the spacers that hold it up from the bottom edge so it is spaced down there. Then if you have it spaced correctly side to side, you should be perfect. Next just press around the edge to seat and seal it.

Do use the primer that helps adhere it to the butyl. Expensive but worth the security of knowing the windshield will not blow out on the freeway or something.

I am NOT good enough to do it myself. I sell stuff for a living, and I pay for what I will not want to screw up.

At $509 for the glass, a pro installer is just dandy. He did my other car when Jonathan at GPR still owned it.

I will even get the 3M butyl roll if I have to.

Over the years, I've had Rufino R/R several windshields on my 914. He knows all the issues with the 914 windshield and can install the rubber trim if you want to avoid the chrome trim.
