Guys I would like to see some pictures of 914s with Body color or black early bumpers. I am thinking about going either body color or black.

A little of each? Fiberglass with body color and 'rubber' is liquid bed liner (Herculiner).

Great keep them coming. No I have several sets of bumpers laying around. May try acid dipping a set just for shits and giggles. I may give the chrome ones to a friend. I just redid his car and it came with BURBs. His is a classic resto so it would look better in chrome.

QUOTE(Brett W @ Jul 29 2004, 07:54 PM) His is a classic resto so it would look better in chrome. actually, all /4s in the early days had the body color bumpers from the factory. the chrome was only offered as a option and did cost lot's'o $$$ ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Andy |

This is how I bought the car. Since then I have added the fogs and painted the grills black to match the bumber. It tends to go with the overall "brutal" look.

That is a cool tow vehicle in ga1142's photo. Can anyone identify the baby blue panel-wagon?
BTW, the body colored bumpers do look pretty good. |

The panel truck in the first picture looks to be about a 1953 chevy. Original style wheels at the rear axle, so I wonder if it might still have most or all the original drive train...
Body color bumpers - defintely! |

from the "das grosse ..." buch, stock trim for early /4s ...
note that they had NO vinyl, NO chrome trim, steel wheels and body colored bumpers. also note that this one has a porsche badge even thought the book also states that they never came from the factory with badges. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Attached image(s) ![]() |
