New lights have a single white wire, the old ones have a white and brown.

This is a 75 2.0 with appearance group.
Model numbers are same on each light. Does the new one just ground to frame bumper at the mount?

These new lights have never been mounted.

That would be my guess. Just jump it on your bench top. A 9 v battery would work.

The dual wire requires a ground (brown wire) the single wire is grounded through the mounting bolt.

Very simple, but wanted to make sure I would not short it

Thanks. - I bought these new ones last year afti (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) er I broke the old one, but had not gotten around to put them in. I just took them out of the box. I got them from a guy who's dad had a big 914 parts stash. $100 , never been used. The are like brand new!!!!. Really should be on a concourse car. Mine now!.

They are bright, so bright I gota (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)
