I'll be there. Got my back up tranny in (sorry Bruce, hope you don't need it).
JP, how come no opinion on the "leave the seal in the tranny" idea. Can't believe you passed on that one. Or are you still on the floor laughing? |

I got some pics of this affair. The Porsches out numbered the "other cars" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap56.gif) but there were only 5 914's (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
4 of us ran in the 1st group & Bill Ran in the 2nd. There was a purty dark silvery grey V8 that ran nice. He had a '66 olds aluminum block (can't remember the size) & said it was only 60 lbs. heavier than the stock engine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) ran gud but I think I beat him (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) anyways. here's some pics... mostly of the 9 lebens (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Got some gud movies too but need an FTP to post to. .........b Attached image(s) |

Bruce, the olympic blue '73 2.0 wasn't Bill. It was a new 914 AX'r , Greg Chapman. If Bill had been there I would not have been 1st among the 914-4's (notice how I snuck that in there). I was right in the middle at #5 of 9 in the 2.0 class. It hurts to get beat by a Miata, 2 Neons and an Integra. But, after all, those cars were built in the 90's! Thanks for the great pics.
Great day for ULF. TTOD and 4th overall for the co-drivers Chuck and JP. That's against a bunch of 3.6 911's, a 996 Turbo, Boxter S or two, and a few Corvettes. Seems like JP has ULF on good feed! And he was built in the 70's (sorta). Now what will I use for an excuse? Old age I guess! |

I wished I could have taken all our (914's) pictures but with most of us in the same run group it couldn't happen. Here's Greg Chapman doin' the corner.
I don't know what my best time was. I think it was 43 sumpin. Dam unsticky tiars (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) (gotta blame it on sumpin, eh?) I could blame it on Jim cuz he wouldn't let me use his tiars! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) ........b Attached image(s) |

Nice pix, Bruce.....as usual. We gotta get in different run groups so's I can get some of you & Punkin'. Those files are huge. Nice that they can be posted here.
That is the first TTOD for the ulf & the first time either of us have beaten Skinner. Chuck's haid was all swolt up and I was happy for him. I'm right in the ballpark on tire pressures for the SO4s. I quit listening to what other folks were running and made some big changes.....even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) There was a very rough area at the East end. Hard on the gas in 2nd....the back end was bouncing off the ground......whaaa, umph, whaaa, umph. I thought for sure something in the drive line was gonna break (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) Aug 21 & 22 (2 days, whoopie), SCCA AX is next. We'll see iffn' we can run with the big dogs there. I shoulda taken Mr. Chapman for a ride, but I think the hook is set anyhow (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (edit) I'm surprised none of you eagle eyed sunzabitches didn't comment on my miswired brake lights. Where's Brad when ya need him (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |
