Is there ment to be a screen between the sheetmetal vent in the cowl area and the fresh air vent?
It seems like alot of stuff gets in there and clogs up the water drain lines? If there is ment to be something what does it look like and anyone have one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Kerry I all dried out from Hershey Finally (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif) |

They added the plastic screen in 71 or 72, I believe. My car has it.
Most of the time, they get painted body-color when the car is repainted. They're supposed to be black plastic. It's really easy to break the fresh air blower housing when you remove it. (E.g., to replace the screen, to mask it off for painting, to repair the blower, etc.) I am told that you can at least get some cardboard in between the body and blower by loosening the retaining nuts and sliding the cardboard in. That can help when you paint the car, at least. You may be able to do something similar to put the late-mode screen in there. If you do remove the blower assembly, be careful as many of them seem to be somewhat fragile any more. --DD |
