Bay Area: '77 VW Bus / Vanagon Kombi Camper (mission district) $6000 Options

Up for sale is my beloved VW bus. I will be traveling for a few months and need to sell it before I go. Runs great, passed smog the last 2 years in California, registration good until March 2012. Very clean body and undercarriage. Has the Riviera camper top with very clean canvas. Screens could use replacing if you are camping in mosquito territory. Has a Porsche 914 flat 4 2.0 L engine that was put in by a previous owner in the late 90s, still running like a champ. The exterior has been painted shiny black, and the interior still bears the original color apple green. This is the camper style with sink / fridge / counter top, however the fridge has been removed. I always had the intention of fixing the inside up nice but alas I must let go of this one.

Recently replaced:
- clutch
- 4 Hankook tires (+ spare)
- rebuilt transmission
- exhaust
- alternator
- wiper motor
- headlights

Room for improvement:
- no stereo, but 3 new speakers ready for yours
- same thieves that stole the stereo drilled out passenger door lock
- they also broke the locking mechanism on the passenger triangle window
- passenger seat needs some stuffing (seats are a nice tan leather)
- need to test propane / thermostat for camper heating system
- alternate battery to be hooked up
- your personalized interior design touch :-)
