For those of you who've not made this run before: tune your suspensions and secure all loose objects in the cabin. It's Rice Canyon time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) If you haven't made this run before you've missed out. Horsepower is best kept in the stable this time for the 1.7's are equal to 6's here. If your looking for an advantage then wear a neck brace because the snake will have your head rocking as the steering wheel snaps left and right in a rythmic pattern. Plus, the run thru Rainbow's backyard ain't bad either. This is another twisty back road that takes us to Rice Cyn. Parts are covered in trees and provide a canopy of green. This stretch is less predictable because of some reverse bank turns. Rice Cyn takes us into Valley Center and a 5 miles later we have breakfast at Harrah's. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) Now that Ethan is 18. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) After eats we:

Option 1, take 74 for about 10 miles then thru the reservations twisties for about 15km which brings us back to our starting point by about 0900hrs.......................... or as we've also done ....................................

Option 2, after departing Harrah's, run up n down Palomar Mountain then proceed back into Temecula via the res as mentioned in option 1. This adds about an hour to the run and will get us back around 1000hrs.

0545 - 0615 Starbucks on 79s at : 30571 Highway 79 S
Temecula, CA 925924821
951-506-2785

0615hrs - Depart Starbucks

0700hrs - Arrive Harrah's

0800hrs - Depart Harrah's for option 1 or 2.

0900hrs or 1000hrs (depending) Arrive back at starting point. I'm in! The quarter is done before then, so this is a definite yes for me. Plus, I'm finally allowed in the casino...haha (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bootyshake.gif)

I'm good with whatever run you guys want to do. It'll be nice to do a dawn patrol run again.

Oh BTW Kent, thanks for the use of your Gearbox tools, I managed to get mine built perfectly with everything. I can give them back to you that day If you'd like.

Dave, the offer is out there if your car isn't OK to run through the canyon, and my passenger seat is open, you're welcome to ride along with me.

Are we encouraging the use of racing slicks for this run? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)

You're welcome to join us but I'd suggest that you leave home a little earlier than the rest of us. About 2 days earlier. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

As mentioned previously, this run is subject to change depending upon my whims and the snow in Idylwilde. Well it's snowing in Idylwilde with more to come Tues/Wed so I think it's time to switch gears and get ready for the Idylwilde cruise (barring any road closures, that is). If you had your mouths all puckered up for the Rice Cyn run I'm sorry but this Idylwilde run is simply gorgeous after a fresh snow. This is a great trip for the better half so if you've been waiting to take your SO for a run in the 14 or you just haven't gotten around to hitching your wagon to one of our Dawn Patrol runs, this is certainly the one. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) BTW, I will post a new meeting place and times for this run tonight or manana. (much easier to speel than toommoorrow (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )

Me too, I'm self employeed. This is one reason we leave early. I can put anyone off untill 1000hr's which is generally when we get back. Don't miss out. This is a beautiful run. I'll look up the Denny's address and post it tonight.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_bump.gif) OK here's the address 2675 W Florida Ave, Hemet, CA
(951) 652-1346 () ‎

0615-0645 Meet up @ Denny's
0645 Depart Denny's for Idylwild w/ a photo op stop or 2
0730-Arrive Idylwild, Breakfast, Coffee, BS
0830-Depart Idywild for home

Last year we departed in two directions. Back the way we came for those in the Temecula area and down the north slope for those returning LA area. I took the north slope and doubled back. I highly recommed the north slope route back regardless.

For anyone who's coming, please sound off. Let's get a headcount so we know who to wait up for at the meetup place.
