Let me.. let you in on a little secrect (if you havent already figured this out on your own)

Cars with fiberglass anything on them (street cars) have been wrecked at one point or another. I find very few cars with Fiberglass bumpers or GT flares that havent been involved with a accident. Spending time around the body shop teaches you a whole bunch.

I'll take a stab at why this car has glass bumper (for fun)

Car was hit good. Collected insurance money, new chrome bumpers cost 600$ apiece. Estimate was written. Owner used money to have the complete car repainted and 916 bumpers put on it.

We see it a lot around here.

Not saying the cars isnt worth it.. just be careful.

Why do you always have to burst other people's bubbles? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I would love to get color matched 916 bumpers on my car. Maybe they did it just for looks. How much do FG 916 bumpers run anyway?

Didnt mean to burst it.. more of a buyer beware. The shiny paint gives it away. You know it runs something like 3-4k in our area for a full paint (execept Maaco).

I will disown you if you put 916 bumpers on you car. No more driveway fixes..LOL

916 bumpers where meant for 916's (with GT flares) I personally dont like them, the replica's just dont look good on a narrow body car (again.. my opinion.. not knocking anybody that has them already)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) you'll disown me?? Who then will I go to with my random questions?

BTW, I still need to figure out what bulb I need for my foglight. Can you tell me, or can you walk me through the disassembly process? I don't know how to remove the lens without breaking anything.

Also wondering if I have brights? Or just fog lights? I'd really like to be able to do this :finger2: to people that piss me off on the road.

Thanks

Jenny,
Have you put the halogen bulbs in the fogs?? There is a bulb that fits right in.
Is that a touch of Road Rage I hear in your voice?

I'm not sure what I have exactly as far as fog lights go.

I only have a touch of road rage because in just the last week, I've had three instances where cars come bearing down on me in my lane. Once in my bright orange 914, and twice in my big white silverado truck. Don't tell me you didn't see me in your mirror. You didn't bother to look when you wandered into my lane. That shit pisses me off. You want to drive like an idjut and endanger your life and the lives of your loved ones, fine. It's a free country. But don't drive like an idjut and endanger my life. I take that pretty personally.

What I really want is a boxing glove that's spring loaded, so next time someone gets too close to me, I'll just unroll my window and bonk that on their window to kindly let them know I'm there.

You need a hammer like on "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

$600 for a crome bumper? I bought one from my local bumper cromeing place last spring for $220, no core. They didn't have one in stock so they had to pull a core and do it special.

I carry half empty water bottles just for that reason.. You can throw them at the window and they bounce off with no harm.

Somebody tell her which bulbs to buy. I pulled hers out and they where fried. She already has a Halogens in it.

She just needs replacements.

Buy the bulbs and I will install ONE of them and show you how to do the other.

Only ONE is burned out, on the passenger side. But the driver side one that works doesn't really seem that bright... Did 914's not have high beams?

Everybody left that one alone. Your high beams are part of your turn signal switch. Pull the arm towards you for high beams. Pull it again to change back.

Jason and I bought the red car you posted. We picked it up last night (when you read this next)

Oh.. if you ever doubted anything I said about 914's...

The car was hit front and rear. If you called the guy: he said "it has never been wrecked"

I pointed out to him all the damage in both trunks.

Brant,

The car is OK at best. The damage is/was minor. It is a repaint from a cool green color. The tub is actually solid, and from looking at alignment shims and tires... it aligns straight. No rust in the floorpans... OE battery tray is stilll in place.

Jenny,

The dash is toast.

Jenny, do you need a dash?

The car I'm getting from Jon supposedly has a decent dash
(is that correct Brad?) which I really don't need (car will be kept outside due to lack of garage space)

I'd be willing to sell it along with the Fuchs (set of 5) since I don't need those either..........

I'd be interested in the dash... I can't buy more wheels from you though. I still haven't mounted the ones I got from you two months ago! Just curious though, 4 or 5 lug?? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
