I am putting back on my rocker arms and I keep stripping the threads out of the nuts that go on the studs. I can see if it was one stud doing the damage but its not. I got the new nuts from my FLAPS so I hope they are strong enough? I torque them to 10lbs as to Haynes. I have 7 in place and torqued, and still have to run out and buy more nuts, stripped 4!

Did you have the heads bead blasted? I have had this problem before, but I pulled the studs and the blasting resideu got into the holes. When I went to put the studs back in the aluminum threads stripped out. Try running a die over the studs to clean up any burrs.

I haven't had them bead blasted, but I will try running a die over them, now to find my metric tap and die set.

Rotate the engine to relieve the valve spring pressure for the cylinder you are working on. This allows the nut to grab more threads before it sees a load.

Or, you could get rid of the stupid 7x1.00 threaded studs and get a real set from FAT... They use a 8x1.25 thread and I used T1 head bolts and wavvy washers to hold mine down. They are cheap and easy to put in.
