Installed a new to me MoMo steering wheel. This one is out of a factory 1983 Ferrari BB512i. The owner swapped it out on his Ferrari for a Monte Carlo MoMo back in the mid 80's. He sold his car back in 1989 and this one has been sitting in storage since then and now is back on the road in a 914. 365mm width and it feels great. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) of course I needed to flog the car around on the twisties today to really get the feel. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Hmmmm......... do you have the engine that goes with that tach ? Oh yeah, the wheel looks great.
I've got an antique Prototipo in my car.

Yes, I do...1973 911 S 2.4 MFI. I like to think of it as my 916 without the flares, bumpers, and plush carpet.

Installed a set of lug nut covers in a deal negotiated at Hershey. They really finish off the wheels nicely:

Really Nice!
How did you handle the horn button? Seems like a center cap (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
Also, is that a 356 shift knob on a Rennshift?
All looking very good, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif)

Horn button is a wheel cap attached to a momo horn button from eBay. The cap is attached using 3M extreme outdoor double sided tape. I have used this method in the past and it works great.

Yes, I have a 356 shift knob on a Rennshifter. It was a tight fit towards the bottom but it has been on for years working well. i used a wrap of electrical tape as a shim at the top of the Rennshifter stem. I like to think of it as a 904 knob rather than a 356 knob. I have seen the same knob in factory 904's. Mentally makes the car faster. I think the later 356 and 904 used the same shift knob.

I took it to a car show today. First one! Even cleaned it up yesterday! Only 914 there, and my only Porsche company was a 912 daily driver. Lots of looks and good conversation.

Today I attended a car show with Jim and Kieth in Newport Beach then fixed my flopping headlight / then headed out to pick up my recently cleaned and inspected spare 901 at the Urban Workshop and took it to my storage unit until I return from the Arizona house flip from Hell at the end of next week. the guy in the high desert had a pile of 901's from which to choose....

Full kitchen remodel in AZ is my next weeks' project. The trusty 914 goes into garage in Laguna for a rest.

I can't believe how reliable these 911 engines are after hour upon hour at 85 MPH across the high desert roads. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Worked on the 2.7 a little bit too. Put in a internally regulated alternator, installed early flywheel & clutch and installed a converted oil cooler. Engine tin should be back from powder coat on Monday.
