Wow, that looks great, Travis. Good luck with the install, my /6 ran great all last weekend.

You're going to LOVE having a real Porsche motor sitting behind you!!!

Thanks Larmo,

I guess it is time to stop collecting parts and actually do something with them! I hope to get this done in the next couple of weeks, we will see how it goes..

Lawrence, Forrest and Keith, did you let Travis drove your car last weekend that makes him do a 6 conversion too? But thanks though! at least Bob was able to find a good engine for his 73 project!

Installed a set of lug nut covers in a deal negotiated at Hershey. They really finish off the wheels nicely:

Finally replaced the oil temp sender so my gauge now works. Changed oil (Brad Penn 20-50). Used some 3M weatherstrip adhesive to secure a piece of rubber that kept popping off if left side engine tin (I think that was source of some VW engine smell in cabin). I also used smoke machine on exhaust to make sure that was not leaking anywhere.

Ready for Summer.

No additional 914 progress, but my auto shop instructor called me yesterday morning and said he'd be in the shop until 10pm, so I took the Ghia up there. Blasted the rusty rear brake drums, replaced the rear wheel cylinders, installed new shoes & hardware, checked the front pads (they're OK for now), then we bled the system.

Replaced the broken speedo cable and replaced the stock muffler with an EMPI extractor exhaust and flat-pack quiet muffler - oh, much nicer sound (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I also purchased new ball joints, tie-rod ends and a steering damper, but I'll try to get to that next Tuesday if I can score some lift time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

**Will replace the rear trunk carpet ASAP, ithis one needs a new home

And a nice car it is, Travis! I rode with Jamie the whole weekend without a hitch and he showed me some of the better performance highlights of your car - very nice! Gave me more incentive to work harder on mine. Thanks for the ride! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Picked up the engine tin from the powder coating shop. I got lucky and found this brand new aftermarket tin for $200 on ebay about a year ago.
