Trying to get to WCR so been doing a lot of delayed work the last week and especially the last few days...

Today had no power to fuel pump so used Jeff Bowlsby's testing procedure to identify a fault with the relay board; removed and tested board circuits' continuities; found fault on 25amp fuse rivet and tab; cleaned with electronics cleaner and bent tab on rivet. Power to pump!

After that, finished installing rebuilt rear brake calipers (PMB) though had some problems with the adjusters...also installed new rear Sebro discs, and a few days ago a new FAG rear wheel bearing. Also finished today replacing right inner CV with used good one from Mark Heard, and swapped old inner to outer; finally, installed new brake bleeder covers and ebrake bellows (914Rubber).

And last night I finally got around to installing a replacement tan driver seat with no tears or holes (thanks, Ryan in Tacoma), and a passenger seat bolster from Camp 914.

Changed oil & filter and then fired it up -- first start since last fall!

Now I just need to get the air out of the brake system and I'll be on my way...!

I agree with Luke M

As i said, Toyo says otherwise and flipping the tires will result in the same pattern anyways since they don't have a left/right.
One side will always be different than the other.

Then these are probably not good wet road tires (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Drove it in the rain all day today, great grip and braking, didn't have any problems at all ...

Still working on my AZ house. The painting crew will start on 6/18, so I'm replacing some of the old (1994) trim around doors, windows and corner pieces (as needed) before they show up.

Trim will stay green, but a shade lighter, the green siding has got to go, will change to a medium-dark tan, and the garage doors will be a light tan/beige to keep the inside temperatures cooler, especially during the summer months (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Attached Image

Had to cut down (2) 10' Italian Cyprus trees that straddled the RV garage door so the siding & trim that was hiding behind them can be painted. What a chore that was (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Maybe I can work on some cars again when I get back to CA (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Mark, what are you using for the trim? Is it Azek or other PVC? If so I have a better solution for your fasteners.

I'm using pre-primed OSB, Joe ... that's what all the new construction is using here now. I'm applying silicon caulking before cinching the boards down, and the painter will fill all the screw holes. I had to counter bore the holes, the screws wanted to sit on top because the OSB is pretty dense material.

Ok, interesting. I have no experience with PP OSB, here it's used only as a lower cost alternative to plywood sheathing, and I hate it. Ever seen OSB burn?

PVC might swell to much in that AZ heat.

Carry on.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

Went to go look at a local property that has a house my wife likes, and a garage that I like (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

... and now, the detached RV Garage's interior (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif) ... I think one could park about 15 or 16 914s in there (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
