Replaced engine mounted oil cooler. Re-mounted fuel pump (much quieter now). Replaced Alt. belt. Cleaned up some wiring while engine was out. Car has never run stronger since repair was completed.

Spent 1.5 hours getting this f'n shock out of this 3.5" insert only to have the shock body get stuck inside.... I still haven't tackled the other side..

I'm out of breath and pissed off...at this point the 914 can fucking rot....

Mike, stand the strut upright, spray some PB Blaster into it and try again in a day or two. You may need to apply some heat to the housing if the Blaster doesn't do the trick.

Not familiar with Veri-prime Kent...It's Valspar VP-50 Epoxy Primer, not cheap but I have had excellent results for years.
