rebuilt 2 MPS’s and went on 2 hours of test and tune drive to get the a/f meter readings in balance- not too bad for a do-it-yourself job after getting timing dialed in and tuning . but still my idle is a bit higher now but it was running so rich now not, yet running cooler.

oh and we set a 113 year old bight temperature record today @ 91 degrees!!

Started the body work on the new rear trunk lid for the '74.
It's as lumpy as a bag of walnuts but at least there's no rust.
Will look nice when completed and it has to be perfect because the car is black......

Went for a drive to the local brewery and ended sitting, parked, in the garage drinking beer.

I put in a full set of LED's from @spoke a couple of weeks or so ago but, the backup lights never worked.
Turned out that the backup light switch wasn't wired up. We rewired it all today and viola! Let there be backup light......

I got my cylinder unstuck. I think I might need new piston and rings (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

3 great 914's spending almost 3 hours in the twisties SW of Richmond, VA yesterday afternoon, all of us having an absolute blast. Poor Mike (914V8inVA) took up the rear in his 426hp Chevy V8, but did spin his tires passing us once.......

Driving a 914 is great, but it's even greater when with great 914 friends.

A better time could not be had on planet earth.........

To all in Central VA -

Rick, Mike and I are thinking of starting The Central Virginia 914 Club. Loose & free, cheap, easy - just fun meet-ups and drives when the mood stirs us.

PM me if you are interested.

Finally got the 914 in the air. After a full year after purchasing a Max Jax lift I finally got it installed and ready to lift the 914 and the 911. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Congrats, Ravi! ... you're gonna love it.

It took me 3 years to get my first 4-post lift assembled at the shop (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif) ... but it was due to extenuating circumstances (recovery from a few surgeries took a long time) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Jaime ( @oldschool ) shot some footage of the lift assembly portion of the August 2012 event,

... and here's the carb clinic footage: https://vimeo.com/48278551

Huge congrats!

You'll think you've died and gone to heaven - at least as far as working on your vehicles - and wonder how you ever got by without it.

Had my asymetrical 10k lb. lift for 7 years, and love it.....gets a lot of use by family & friends too, which I love......

This reminds me of when I was a kid. My Dad, on a Sunday morning took me to get some firewood from the side of the Parkway. He lowered the convertible top on the Skylark and we loaded the back seat and took it home. Thanks for that!

Currently installing a new clutch cable and throttle cable. Have everything disconnected, just need to give my shoulders a rest from the cramped position at the pedal assembly.

I know what you mean. I just did mine too. While I was under there, I thought about unbolting the pedal assembly to hook up my cables, but decided against it and suffered thru it.

I think the previous owner was a little hard on the gas pedal...or he kept foot on pedal when he wrecked the car, signs of front end impact up front.

Luckily in my pile of nuts and bolts I had a replacement rod.

This cable I used for my throttle , is it a /6 cable? I noticed it is threaded on both ends. Will it make my car faster?
