Traded in my 2yr old Optima battery for a brand new one under warranty and installed it.
Took 914 for a drive or two on the back roads. Running good (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
My Optima is 1 year old and it won't take a charge....my smart charger says the battery is sulfated... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Not sure what "sulfated" means but check your warranty. Mine was 36 months 0 prorate. The guy at Advance Auto said Optima has changed the warranty over the past couple years.

I've heard a lot of folks have been unhappy with Optimas recently ... and going with Odyssey

The guy at Advance Auto said he has had his Optima for 9 years but he sees a lot of Optimas being brought in after a much shorter period of time. Another case of older product being superior to current offerings (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Engine rotating assembly back from machinist for balancing.
Short block assembled. Ready to put on the pistons/cyls so I can measure deck height.

Then the heads go off to bugpatch for machining. then whole engine goes together....

Saturday I washed, clayed, buffed, polished, and waxed mine. I still can't stand up straight. Got some results though! Next weekend I'll detail the front trunk.

Your ice green teener looks great! I assume that is correct color? Special color! Don't see many of those! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Thanks! Sometimes I feel like I post too many pictures of it though. I feel like I make way less progress than most people on this board!

There is NOTHING wrong with bragging! Especially if you have an awesome teener like yours! Looking at your second picture, have you gone to the wrong house by mistake?!

I wanted to get a picture of it in the sun so I pulled it out of the driveway, but it is sort of suburbia hell. Every house looks the same, but I don't mind since rent is cheap and I have a two car attached garage!

Pictures of pretty cars kept me going when mine was a basket case and in a million pieces.

Ross, is that original paint?

Looking at the house pix, reminded me of some lyrics in a song by the Kinks: Demolition ... "Then we'll build a row of identical boxes and sell them off at treble the profits"

Funny how the angle makes your garage appear wider than your neighbors' garages.
