After owning the car for 12 years and it sitting idle for the last 7 I drove my car for the first time with a 2.0 back in its home. I got it to my shop and replaced the clutch cable, replaces the shift rod bushings and adjusted the valves and gave myself a hit list of items to get the car back to being a daily driver

No clue why both photos uploaded upside down, and no idea how to fix it. I apologize everyone

After aligning the door glass to the cabin and the roof, I put the vapor barrier on and installed the reupholstered door panels and arm rests. Also put on new window cranks, latches and latch surrounds.

Thanks @ValcoOscar and @DRPHIL914 It's been a long time coming. The white used is supposed to be the original color but, to me it appears to be a bit more off-white than I had expected it to be but, it was done by Auto's International so, I figured they know what they are doing.
Either way, it's a really nice looking combo.

Adjusted rear camber. Got the RR to 0 deg and LR to -0.45 and then ran out of shims. Will continue when my order arrives ...

Been real busy sorted out some "must finish jobs",got my pilot driving lights working as mentioned in a separate thread, got my euro front indicator conversion finished with the DIY kit a bought a long time ago from member Martin Baker, had some fitment issues as the reflectors had no holes drilled to locate them, sorted that and soldered/wired up from dual top filament holder down to power lower lamp holder for parklight as per euro spec.
One thing I noticed was because you have to cut off the contacts on the 5 watt side on the top dual filament holder, the lamp has less contact and tends not to contact as well leading to a working not working issue ,replace both lamps and sorted as the lead contacts on both old lamps were worn down.

Always had a problem with my amps gauge reading low so worked out there was a voltage loss running the power feed from old centre console wiring to dash, pulled the gauge and jumpered to switchable supply from fuseboard and got nearly .6 volt more showing and real close to full charged battery voltage...another win (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) .
Well my LED conversion turned out to be a waste of money due to regulations in my country, when I bought this kit there was no mention of this being an issue, but now they are deemed non-compliant due to beam scatter and brightness,I normally don't agree with these regs but in this case they are right.
Onwards again with my H4 lamps and TBO are pretty good, got the headlights basically aligned to body and pretty close without a beam setter.
Cheers.

Taking the '71 to a local C&C tomorrow- today I helped a friend replace the brake light switch on his '66 E type Jag. Porsche isn't the only company that puts parts in places "almost" impossible to access... but we did get it done, and even with Lucas electrics, they now work!!

Got the new engine running and starting to do the ECU mapping. Makes 180bhp at 5600rpm on Dynajet rolling road. Fuel map almost there but need to work on the sub-2500rpm section.

Video here of low rpm part throttle run...

Spec: 78 x 96mm, reworked 44 x 36 heads, JE pistons, Biral cylinders, H-beam rods, WebCam 86a, SSIs and VS muffler, DTA T2 ECU, Bosch 'green giant' 440 injectors, 48mm throttle bodies on cut and rewelded manifolds (angled outwards to straighten the path into the ports), etc etc.

I'm probably an idiot but I built this press to install new bushings in my front control arms.

Attached Image

I know I could have threaded the rod through where the torsion bar goes, but I powder coated the cap in place.

Anyway, it worked.

So ... I tend to work on my car in 30-45min intervals after dinner on weeknights and a few hour-long stretches during the week. After one of those sessions, I wrote the above update - pretty psyched about approaching 0 deg camber. It took me a few days to realize that I was supposed to be targeting -0.5-1.0 deg. My enthusiasm got the best of me and I shot right past my target ...

That's some great "engineering" there for sure.
If you're an idiot....you're the smartest, most resourceful around.
Nice job.

This is worth a couple of "attaboys" at least.
Nice job on cleaning up that headlight surround.
