Eric- Whats that big decal on your dash say?

It's an IROC decal but made for a 901. "Rev Limit 7300" "Press Clutch to the Floor for Up and Down Shift" (or something like that...) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

I fixed it!

I was having a starting problem, detailed in another thread. Turned out the connector on positive battery terminal was really corroded and the end of the copper wire was also corroded. I changed out the connector, and cut about an inch off the end of the copper wire (to the starter) and she fired right up!

So I spent about $150 to fix a $5 problem....and I'm happy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)
(I think that about sums up the addiction)

Adjusted the valves this morning... #1 was good, #2 exhaust was slightly loose, and both #3 & #4 had very loose intake AND exhaust (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
Tightened up a few of the exhaust nuts and FINALLY no exhaust leaks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)
Tore one of the valve cover gaskets somehow during installation so have to swap that out tomorrow to get rid of a major oil leak.
Running good and hope she continues to do so as I head to Illinois on Wednesday (600+ miles each way) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

My rear lid stopped closing. My latch was worn so I pulled it out, welded it up, and ground down a nice sharp edge. It now closes better than it ever did. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Heres some painting in the rain pics, it started after the first coat and I wasn't stopping. All patch panels have already been painted but ground bare where welding took place so I had to repaint everything. I also must admit that this was 3 days ago but I just loaded the pics today so that counts right?

Off the jackstands at last! A long day, but much was accomplished.

1) Installed engine (after cutting slightly larger opening for induction)
2) Mounted ECU
3) Made wiring pretty (less ugly?) with zip ties and tape
4) UPS guy made a timely appearance with my K&N filter, so I bolted that up

I'll fabricate a box for the TB/airflow meter later, but this will do for now. I'm very pleased at how the LS1 fit...I really had my doubts, Only issue is that the main harness coming out of the firewall rubs against the harmonic damper, so I'll fit one of those rubber-lined clamps to pull it away from all the rotating bits.

225 tires are tight on the back. Left side fender needs a bit more pulling, but fine on the right. I love the staggered look! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Dropped off the gas tank at the radiator shop to be cleaned and boiled. I will paint it when I get it back. Now to get those carbs rebuilt. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif)

Dropped the drivetrain, removed engine tin and FI system, cleaned a bunch of stuff, pulled the rear shocks and dropped the front suspension. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Hope to (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) soon!

Grocery shopping and more clean up/prep work at the shop for the Carb Clinic/Lift Erection Party this Saturday.

Also picked up some goodies from HF, including a 2-ton chain hoist for moving 'stuff' up to the storage area above the office space.

The temperatures have been up in the high 90's around here and the shop was still cooking way into the night (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) ... so we built some ducting, attached it to a 20" box fan and installed the contraption up in the ceiling under one of the turbine roof vents. Works pretty good for being a ho-hum tin-knocker (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif)

Someday soon, hoping we'll actually get back to working on cars ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif)
