Our first meet, a picknic with some VW owners, we are not ready for a Porsche Meet yet, but I liked the color and how it stands out.

Good Sunday.

I just noticed that my build thread is about to go over 40,000 views. That's an awful lot of people looking in on my project. I'm such an off the wall builder and the car is coming out awesome
I can't say Thank you enough for all of the visitors that have looked in just to see what the fuck I do next.
Thank al'yal just for looking.
Sure would like to drive it more than in and out of the trailer.

Just got engine completely disconnected to drop it in next day or so, removed stubborn right exhaust header tonite, left tomorrow, then HE's.

Will start cylinder head and cylinder/piston removal next for top-end rebuild.

I finished cutting the Gurney Flap out today. Looks great.

Thanks to Mark @euro911 for suggesting that I make it adjustable from the cockpit.

Fired up and drove both the factory six and my conversion this morning before it got too hot. Both had not run in a month and a half, and both fired up and drove fine.

Drove it about 40 miles this morning, then continued working on a mounting system for the super lightweight GT lid that Sergio crafted. It has no hinges, so after reading several posts and borrowing a few ideas, I am making a system where it will be held on by 3 pins. Granted....right now it looks a bit rough, but I think the end product will look pretty decent. It will not only be easier to work in the engine bay w/o the hinged lid, but will also be easy to remove this setup in order to go back to stock.

Fitting the flap on the rear wing. Works better than I expected. Falls freely from anything close to vertical. Now I guess it's time to install the servo.

My build thread is almost up to 40,000 viewers. Shameless plug but thank you anyway...

Had my RH interior door panel off,I had previously did this to add sound deadening strips to the door it was unfinished job now done.
About to put back together but noticed a poor fit of repop lower support under the handle, this part never fitted well ,so checked why.
Fiberglass liner was made all wrong so I repaired it with resin and glass, had to reglue the covering as in the short time it was off the glue all let go (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) .
This is another case of stuff bought from SMC who I have had no end of issues with and no longer deal with them.
Anyway on a better note took my Corrado out for a drive after changing all the brake fluid and sorting the handbrake and adjusting the cable shift box ,real fun to drive with 150hp on tap in a rather light car, much more torque than the old 16v 1.8.
Off and on been restoring this car for about 18 months with repower (2.0L 16v ),clutch and lots of work from then on and still going.
For those who are still interested I sold this 87 GTI 3 years ago ,it was fully restored by me,it sold to a guy up north and is now selling for WAY more than I sold it for.

Still working on the hinge for the Gurney Flap on the rear wing. Just about got the servo mounted, I broke a part and did a nice little repair job. Now I am just about ready to cut the tape from the roll. I haven't quite figured out how to keep it all straight and the center dry, but I l'm working on it. Looks like half at a time and mask the center.

Did some more tweaking on the GT Lid. Just a few more adjustments and then attaching the hood pin scuff plates. Then paint or powdercoat.

Thanks Noel....Sergio did all the hard work ....but per my request, he left it unfinished, so I could work on a mounting option before paint. He does a great job.

Rolling rolling rolling, get those doggies roiling rawhide. Put more parts back on to make this a roller and it is very close to go to PMB Performance to finish. The v8 vision is now a RAT 2170
With light suspension and brakes
