Installed halfshafts, filled transaxle, plumbed electric water pump, contemplated wiring job that remains, installed coolant overflow tank. Gotta love those pop rivets!!

mittelmotor, Looks like a nice setup. Where did you get the fill bottle and overflow bottle? I need something just like that for my V6.

Enjoy!

Thanks! Got the overflow bottle through JEGS:

http://www.jegs.com/i/Dorman-Products/326/...oductId=1532097

The FLAPS around here all seem to carry this generic square bottle with a funky bracket. I like how clean this one is, and you can't beat the price!

Filler is through Renegade Hybrids. I got it as part of the kit, but I'm sure they'd sell one separately.

Good luck with the V-6. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

i cant bring it home until i break it to her. maybe i should take it apart and bring it home one piece at a time.

its a nice car. it was originally signal orange and i will return it to that color. very little rust. mostly in the trunk. no previous accident damage. im pretty happy. just need to figure out how to sneak it home. LOL

Drove the Foothills Parkway, the Dragon, some unnamed roads twisting and turning til I got to the Cherohala Skyway where I set up at mile #2 to take pictures for US129photos.com Traffic was very light today. Started raining around 2:30 so headed back home. Just over 100 miles each way. Talk about a tiring trip (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Taking it home in pieces seems like your best option! Out of sight, out of mind! Nice Score!

I picked up the gas tank for Betsy after having it boiled and cleaned to remove the gunk of the 20 yr old gas that was in it. Next order of business is to prep it and paint it.

Tony at Translogcalled me to come up and check on the Engine rebuild for my '74 1.8L. It's in the reassembly stage with new Camshaft(for carbs), Rings, Heads, Cam/Rod/Main Bearings, Bushings Machine worked Crankshaft & magnaflux, polished mains, rods & Cylinders honed to original spec, R & R pin bushings Coatings and clearence measurements, seals......so, bottoms done, case is together, top end goes on this week, engine to be back in car and broke in before the end of the month for pickup to being her home.

Also all new Transmission Shift Linkage/bushings and Tony found that the tanny was missing the Pilot Bushing causing the clutch disc to rub on the bottom of the case!!!!! Ticking time bomb. So new Clutch Release Bushing and Disc.

Once I finacial recover from this I'll start on replacement Gas Lines and rear Springs.
Down the road I'll convert from single carb to Dual Carbs. It's a hobbie, not a daily driver so I can take my time getting it perfect.

Also, will think about getting the heating system working again, Everything appears to be there except for the air hose to the exhaust heat deflectors, and electrically the fans are not functioning. I'll really don't need heat, I garage the car in the winter.

Installed a new gas pedal courtesy of D-zug Products, and finally got around to making new door panels. Nice and simple RSR style plan door panels. All I need now is the trim clips to hold the perimeter to the door. I was planning on just getting miata trim clips with a push pin to allow it them to be removed easily. I'm very pleased with how they turned out, and for $30 worth of marine grade vinyl, particle board, and headliner foam its almost impossible to beat IMO.

OOPS (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Don't be too hard on the guy ... I even got a little cornfused on the two different bottles. I searched for the bottle # that middlemotor posted (see post 1603), which would do the trick, no? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Found one with part # P 901 628 720 22 listed for $16.34 on pcars.com, but they don't show a pic. CLICK HERE

Can this ridiculously low-low price be for real? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Ethan, what kind of particle board did you use? (Where'd ya git it?), and how thick is it?

My cardboard is shot and I have some 1/8" luaun? luan? (sp) plywood I thought about using (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)
