Well, I put the 911SC 3.0 tune sticker on the fan. I put it so it could be read by looking down and not upside down. Not sure if that is right but I like it. Fixed the GT horn button and I took it out for a short drive. Stopped by my 914 brother Alan @914 that lives 1 block away as the crow fly’s and we went for a short drive. I can drive even without my shoulder replacement. I had to prove that I can drive it. No racing but I can enjoy my car somewhat. Birthday tomorrow and that makes one year ago that Eric and Diane delivered my car to the Porsche Experience. Best Bob B Bob, Thanks for the ride in your "6".. I finally got around to doing a 4 cylinder compression test.
1.100 psi 2. 130 psi 3. 120 psi 4. 130 psi I'm hoping the metal squealing noise is piston/barrell related in cylinder 1. |

Stripped Nice… doing the same to our BB, but started at the back. What product are you using? not on your L95K example I hope lol no, our bumblebee. The PO rattle canned the trunk with some type of bedliner product, so we wanted to see the underlying damage. There was a couple of bad trunk floor patch repairs and way too much extremely hard bondo. Got it up in the air and PB Blasted all the fasteners for the front end as well as the header/exchangers and exchangers/muffler connection.
Getting ready for the winter projects: * Rebuild front end * Resolve exhaust leak, which I believe is at the header due to a cracked "ear" |

I never liked the inner carpet panel on the targa top. I had painted the outside with black bed liner several months ago….and it came out awesome. I used a .2 tip and a HVLP gun… and thinned the bed liner to get the texture right. All new seals too.
Today I did the inside with faux leather/vinyl… and I love the way it looks. Vinyl is from hobby lobby… $15. It’s a nice finished look. It’s also light. Targa top is refurbished…. Paint, seals…the works. ![]() ![]() |

The end of another chapter. After 23 years of a wild ride, I pulled my euro 3.2 this week in preparation for the 3.6. I’ve been dragging my feet for two years doing this because the 3.2 runs so well. I still need to pull the wiring harness and brain. I also want to do another leak down with pictures before I put it up for sale. I am in no hurry to sell it.
Two years ago PMS resealed the engine, new chain ramps, all new seals including head gaskets and rebuilt the rockers, chain tensioners, etc. Over $4600 in parts and labor. The leak down was less than 5% so they didn’t recommend overhauling it at that time. ![]() |

Used mine to pull my 1.8L off the engine stand and place it on my break-in/test stand without any assistance. Saved my back too! |
