Off to the muffler shop. Gotta love AAA; I called and the flatbed rig was there in about 20 minutes. Once on the rig, I noticed how low my 914's front ride height is...looks a little too Pro Street, so I think I'll raise it up another 1/2" or so.

Just need to re-bleed brakes, one last bleed for the cooling system, and then drive the suckah!! (with fire extinguisher at the ready, just in case).

Wow that was fast work man...

Removed my pedal the other day and installed it yesterday after minor rebuilt since it is not really that bad. Just cleaned, greasing and replaced the bushing for the accelerator only. Installed it for just less than an hour. Next is to replace rear rotor after I got Mittelmotor (Doug) old rotor for just a very very cheap price, almost a give-a-way.

Anyway, Mittelmotor's (Doug) teen is just an amazing/beautiful car, if you will see the front inside trunk, rear inside trunk and the engine!!!! Wow so clean and very very nice. Sorry Doug if I have to mentioned this!

Take care and hope to see pictures later after installation of your V8 exhaust.

God Bless!

So nice to have smooth-acting pedals, Noel. It really makes driving the car a lot more enjoyable. Thanks for the kind words about the car!

I'll post some exhaust pics later. Essentially, I'm going with a large single transverse muffler for a Mustang V-8, with two inlets and two outlets. Left outlet will exit out a tip to the stock valance location, and the right one will be a cheater "dump" pipe that will be hidden from view. I've got a stock metal valance that's in real nice shape, and I want to retain it for something of a sleeper look. The 2.0 badge stays, BTW!

It may be a little restrictive, but I'm looking for nice tractability rather than all-out rip-roarin' performance. A few less lb-ft of torque may make the transaxle last longer.

Well, I decided to throw a paint job on one of the 914s today (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It took less than a half hour to mask off everything ...

... and the results came out ... OK. Need to touch up a few spots, but it kind of resembles the old 'BB' now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) ... Just need to figure out how to glue the package back together (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

I've decided to once again try and sell off my Mercedes project to devote time/money to my 914 6 conversion project.
Does that count?

Nathan, posts some pics of the 280C. Gotta love old Mercs.

Eye protection. Thinking about cutting up a windshild but gogles cover it for the law. I have a full face but where you going to go on 2 and 1/2 gallons of gas besides the 7/11. This will allow me to test the car.

I'd take 50-cents on the dollar for what I have into it, because it needs some work.
$4k OBO.
PM me if you want information and/or know anyone interested.

914-content: If I do sell it, I'll get cookin' on my 914 project and do a build-thread!

Removed my race seats and 5 point harnesses and reinstalled my stock seats, and a set good 944 belts. Can't deal with my racing seats for school commuting any more..

Thanks, it's a cool car, but with the nicely running 356 and our wedding car (the 914) needing finished...the wife would like us to have all the cars we keep up and running to their potential. After the 914 has sat in a neglected state for 5 years, I can't just hoard stuff I like forever, time to enjoy it!

In a perfect world I'd have tons of money to finish them all and a garage to store them in with room to spare. Sorry to ramble, just feels good to talk out plans to do-up the 914 like it deserves.

I installed Italian clear lenses in the front and the rear. I also installed LED lights in the front and rear. Here is a picture of the rear lenses.
Here is a video of the rear lights activated:

I agree. That's the best looking use of the 916 rear bumper I've ever seen. Too cool!
