I don't think so Jon, too much baggage on that one. What am I talking about, all she would have to do is put out her hand and I'd tell her the key is in the car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

A new joint opened up on the other side of town.
I drove Elvira to try out their Currywurst. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chowtime.gif) Yummm. Very authentic.
I will go back again. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif)

I went over to Triad and got my new exhaust installed! I've been waiting a long long time for this. Now my car finally sounds fast.... if it were only as fast as it sounded. Perception is everything right?

BTW Dave and Erik are super nice guys with a really great product. If you live around here they will throw your car on their lift and put the exhaust on for you. They are almost at 300 units shipped and their product is very very nice.

Grabbing a Coke.
Then I'll drive it home from work with the top off.

PDX 80 degrees, again. Beautiful day for motoring.

That tall garage with such nice teeners is just begging for a nice lift.

Got the engine parts back from the machine shop for Betty's engine yesterday. Already had mine on the lift and the motor out fixing the oil leak. Stabbed the motor back in last night, and fired it up about 30 minutes ago. I have a small fuel leak, and I need to find a copper crush washer for the banjo fitting on the side of the injection pump.

I also need a tach adapter for an Electromotive HPV-1 ignition system.

brp, I couldn't agree more. Priorities however dictate kid's college comes before Dad's lift. Even working on my son's would be much easier with a lift.

Was expecting to get his engine in today, but got sidetracked by that evil demon - rust. Whoever did the battery tray repair did a nice job up to the point where they didn't primer/paint it. Cleaned up lots of surface rust and at least got it primered.

There's also some starting in the hell hole on the divers side. That'll get some POR 15 once I run to town for a paint brush.

Okay, I was just prepping a gas tank for Betsy. Had it boild out a couple of weeks ago, made it pretty today.

First I sanded it down and made it nice and clean.

We took our 914 out for a 150 mile round-trip to the "Classics on the Green" Wine Festival & Classic Car Show at New Kent Winery. Our car stayed in the parking lot (due to poor planning on my part), but we talked to the owner of the only 914 in the show (Steve Summerville) . He has a very nice signal orange '72.

Here's a pic of Steve and his car:

Attached Image

I also mentioned that he should consider visiting 914world.

The show honored 50 years of MGB, but a ton of other pretty--and interesting cars from an Aston Martin DB4 to a 1937 Volvo (both were winners in the show).

Pretty much a perfect day!

Replaced clutch disc and trans mounts - finished up late last night. Now it's raining so haven't had a chance to take it out and test (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

With the mechanicals more or less sorted, time for some interior love. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

I had to do a little sheet metal cutting to fit, but these 2-way Pioneer speakers ($39 at WalMart) are a big improvement. Orig. speakers were smaller, in adapter rings, and had no grilles...a big eyesore.

Also installed something I hope I never need...fire extinguisher! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blowup.gif)

Next up...a leather wheel wrap from AGLA. My car right now has the fake-stitching rubber-rim wheel that looks very low-rent.
