Broke the camshaft in and set idle, timing, mixture, and burnt the shipping paint off the headers (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

These V8's with the small light flywheels just scream! Like a dirt track car with an in/out box. Awesome!

Nice run stand (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb3d.gif)

Looks like your mufflers are in the way of the half-shafts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Have you thought about Jet-Coating your headers?

The mufflers are just on for the break in. Could have just purchased the ceramic coated versions for another 160$ but I'm too cheap, so using Eastwood manifold coating. It has worked well in the past.

Did an unplanned ignition switch unit swap after my granddaughter lost my key (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
Luckily I had an entire ignition switch unit with key in my parts stash (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Worked on Betsy today trying to get her running for the first time in 20 years. New fuel lines, new fuel pump, gas tank reinstalled after being boiled out and cleaned up.Reinstalled the Weber carbs after having them gone through. Fixed non working throttle cable. More to do tomorrow but for now she just needs gas and a battery to try and start her.

Today's work.

Changed the fouled plugs on my 914/6. Got it inspected and drove it to the parts store to get some stuff for Betty's 914.

Got the engine assembled for her 914 to the point that the heads are on, and tomorrow I will put the valve train in, and put the rest of the stuff on it. Then it goes in the car.

It went a little slow today. Had to drive to Plano to get the proper shims to set the end play on the crank.
