Found an insert for the knob. Sanded off the image and polished it. My hands shake too much to try and paint something on there.

What is the knob for. I bet my wife could cut out a little emblem on her circuit machine in a vinyl sticker material in white or silver.

I'm putting in an electric windshield washer. My spare tire is a space saver blow up type.

interesting, when i converted my washer to electric I used the wiper lever with the Carmagic conversion switch so i still use the lever same as before just without getting my lap wet lol . so the water lines dont run there just the switch wires.

I like the idea of it being on the dash!

I had already read a build thread to do what you did with the micro switch. Really cool. But I needed a new tub, my 72 was toast. So I got Howard that is a 71. No lever on the column. I don’t need to be a rocket surgeon to figure out the rest.

The factory dash knob that controls the windshield wipers also controlled the washer. Push in the center of the knob and it opened a valve letting fluid through. It did not sit right it wasn’t centered and it sat farther in. Now that I will not be using that valve to control the washer I can do something about it. I am just making it into a normal insert.

The color# is Z77 its a Porsche color but didnt come on the 914's its Oslo Blue. The interior will most likely be black.

To make the finished plate look centered it ended up off centered to the radio hole in the dash frame. So it gets bolted through at the top and this morning I made a bracket to lock the bottom of the plate to the dash frame. I think it will be okay. If I get so lucky to find a set of Heuer time pieces that I do not have to sell my car to buy, I do not want to trust their safety to double sided tape.

Put on my personalized plates today. I wanted TYPE 47, but it was taken already. That person either owns a 914, a racing Lotus Europa or they are an average typist (Old people will get that one). But, it's OK, because the tag on the car says it's a Typ 47 anyway. And yes I know that a 1974 car in California would have blue and yellow plates, but the state does not sell those and black and yellow look pretty good. Some of you might have seen black and white plates in California, but those are either novelty plates sold online or the new digital plates.
