Yes, this requires more info and pictures. You can not post this without more details and photos. You must have missed that in the forum rules. Please don't make me report you tou an admin. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Edit...

I just finished reading other threads and can guess what car this might be. Very nice!!!!

No pics available yet because I won't receive it until next week or so. (Hint). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer3.gif)

Got my 40 year old windshield replace today. Oh my God! Driving home I thought I was driving without a windshield! So Clear! Also replaced the windshield to dash rubber seal with rubber from 914Rubber!

Total cost was less than $300 which I thought was great considering how hard to find 914 windshields.
Hmmm (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

windshield ...

or

a flux capacitor

You can always go back in time to get an original windshield, then readily in stock for a lot cheaper with a flux capacitor. or even go back to avoid driving behind that truck that sent that piece of gravel flying toward it. flux capacitor saves money. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Oh yeah - you can also go back to 1973 and load up on 914s for about $5K a pop, store them and drive-release them over time! You'll always have a brand new one! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)

Go back and rust treat my longs would ya?

last few days iv been fixing up my rear valance. covered up the factory cutout and made it dual out so i can run glass packs right off the bus headers and welded my cookie cutter tips on the ends. That all came out very nice until i mounted up the bumper. aparantly i didnt shape the body contour to match the bumper nice so there is quite a gap. well i shaved the bumper spacer in half and ground down the rubber top a bit so i could push the whole thing in a little. got it lookin as good as possible.

Got my targa top back from Line-X today. It looks great. A big thank you to Scotty B, PanelBilly, and Patssle who offered advice and expertise!

Also replaced my Rear Targa Seal with a new one from 914Rubber!

My targa top was flaking and peeling from 40 years of use. (See last picture) Scotty B said to sand down the targa top smooth with 80 grit sandpaper which took about two hours. The cost of Line-X application which included fade resistant coating was $175.

Now I got to replace my sail vinyl because it looks faded next to my new top!

Pictures below:

It's Rotary'14 ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif)

Bought my brother a shelf unit and helped him organize a portion of his side of the shop ...

Looking better, but there's much more to do (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Taking a break from uh, 914s - started work on my '66 912 Salt-Flat racer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Need to drop the drive train for an engine swap and tranny reseal. Pulled the generator, carbs, oil cooler and doghouse off so I don't have to raise the car too much.

... and then a brake upgrade - new dual circuit master cylinder and calipers.

... Later that same evening (well, actually, early the next morning) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yawn.gif)

This booger was rusted onto the front head pipes. Didn't want to cut it off, so I've been spraying it with PB for a couple days ... and with a little persuasion from the other tools you see here, finally get it loose (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif)

A nice big pile of tin stuff to clean up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) ... I'll let my nephew deal with this when he comes back up for Christmas break (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

Man-o-man, that's a clean undercarriage, collins (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif)

Tom, it's a 312 T-bird motor. My brother has the front end apart now, contemplating a power steering and disc brake conversion. I'll post a pic of the matching 'Westerner' travel trailer that he's currently working on.
