Congrats Matt on the sale. Car is awesome and I am sure that the new owner will enjoy. Beautiful car. Hit me up if you need to drive a 914 while you figure out your next project.

Thanks! Hope to see your 6 around Almaden, and you at work one of these days!

This is about what I'm doing tomorrow. I am continuing the Audi conversion wiring. I got the Engine sorted last weekend. The steering column is almost ready to swap. Dash wiring and fabricating this weekend. If I have time, I'll get the pedals sorted as well.

Tried my hand at surface rust removal on the '72. I never should have left this car sit outside, but that's another story all to it's own (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Spent about an hour with a couple of small hand tools and some naval jelly to get this far (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Another half hour to get the rest of front portion of the fender cleaned up to this point.

I think I need to find some large diameter Scotch-Brite discs for the power sander to help speed up the process ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Thought I'd throw in a pic of my brother's trailer project (matching his '57 Ford station wagon).

Drove her to work the last few days. Oil leak stopped. I need to get some of those new valve cover gaskets.

Left work early, felt like crap. Slept until 8PM. I'ma try to go to bed here shortly.

Had some out-of-town guests here during the weekend, didn't get much accomplished.

Yesterday evening, continued my way back on the '72, eliminating some more surface rust ... a little at a time.

I remember the day I did that. I ended up having Dr. Evil rebuild my stack, but I cleaned, painted and reassembled everything else. I would have had a go at it myself but I just didn't have the tools or clean space needed to do the job. (No garage) His price was just above buying all the special tools needed to do it. Now i beleive he has a tool loaner program.

Have fun with it!

that is an adjustable bearing. if it not in spec i just add or remove air from it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) . seriously, if this rebuild works, i got 2 friends lined up for there trannys to be re-built. this project is taking tons of research i gotta say... pinion depth and backlash requiring the most research. i need a boogered diff if anyone has one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) . i need to make my pinion depth tool with it. unfortunately i will have to destroy it to make the tool.

I went for a drive and took my GoPro along to make a video. I really like the effect of the swirling trees on the engine cover shot.

Last time I drove the white car it started spitting and sputtering and the tach was going wild, barely made it home. So today I started going through the ignition system, found a half broken tach wire, and a loose connection between the points and condenser, changed out both and fixed the tach wire.....now it runs puuuurrrrfect (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

So I went for a drive. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

started doing a little pre-assembly on my trans.
(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i722.photobucket.com-12492-1356229461.1.jpg)

i found a differential that was past its prime so i was able to start working on my pinion depth tool.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i722.photobucket.com-12492-1356229461.2.jpg)

i need to find someone that is local to me that has a lathe.
