David, this is the one I got. I got the 100cm and used the whole thing. http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/fl...k-circuit/1000/

Would love to see a night pic as well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)
Does it have a dim setting when your not braking and the lights are just on, or is an on or off deal? And for the wiring how did you tie it into the harness? did you need any relays or inline fuses??

Nope, no dimmer or turn signals. I didnt want to deal with a controller. Just on and off with the brake light. No inline fuse. I ran the wires under the driver side sail trim, dropped into the engine bay and tapped into the brake light wire that runs in the harness on the drivers side engine shelf. Super simple and easy. Heres some night shots. one with the flash on and flash off.

It's way brighter than I was expecting.

Nice, Doug. I wish I would have waited to do this instead of installing the Corvette brake light on my rear deck lid (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

I'll still install an additional LED light in the targa trim though.

I picked this set up at Pep Boys. Planning on installing one on the 'BB' and the other on the Westfalia. I think it was around $20.

What colors are the brake light wires you tied into? (I haven't cut into the harness to connect the Corvette light yet)

Ya Mark, I saw a hand full of different ones at autozone. It's cool cuz you can turn them on in the store to check out the light output. I took a chance buying them on line. I couldnt find any in the length i wanted here locally. Do those have a 3m adhesive backing?

Its just one wire. Black with a yellow tracer. Cut, crimp, solder, wrap, done. I grounded the Led to the body.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Bought them mid 2012, but haven't even opened the package yet (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I checked out your link and thinking about ordering the kind you bought. Does yours have an adhesive strip?

Westy ... along the top of the rear window (on the inside) ...

Ya, a 3m adhesive backing, It seemed pretty strong. We'll see how long it lasts.

Spent most of the day today helping my brother with his '57 Ford.

Picked up a 1500-watt heating element (for a water heater) and installed it in my HF parts washer. $10.00 at Lowes Click here ... (also at places like Home Depot, etc.)

Threw a few gallons of water in the tub, checked it for leaks (none), wired it up and then filled it with solvent.

Works great (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Right on mark, I was thinking of doing the same thing. What are you using for solvent?

It's a water-based solvent. I picked up several gallon jugs at HF when I purchased my previous parts washer some years ago. I added 1 gallon of solvent to 15 gallons of water.

The temperature actually reached over 130 degrees when I first tested it. I unplugged the heating element and let it cool down a little before I took the pix.

I forgot to take my Greenlee chassis punch set to the shop, so I had to use a 1-1/8" hole saw to create the hole. Installed it on the back side, a few inches above the bottom of the tub near the pump inlet. Made a thin cork gasket for the outside, the rubber gasket that came with the element on the inside, and a 1" electrical conduit nut to cinch it all together.

Installed a three-wire grounded electrical cord ... scraped some paint from the tab on one of the legs mounts to to assure a good electrical ground connection.

(I should have taken more detailed pix before adding the solvent)

Did some work this week picked up some used 916 bumpers front is good (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) rear is junk (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) ! But you win some and lose some..

Did some test fitting then stipped it down to f/g, doesn't look to bad for $100 I really like the look of the 916 bumper on the teener.

Gearstack should arrive tomorrow.

[drums fingers impatiently on desk]

So I pulled the transaxle case completely and popped in a new input shaft seal, cleaned & regreased clutch fork and T/O bearing sleeve.
