Ordered some new tires. Adjust front wheel bearings. Adjust rear vent clearance. Removed and started to polish wheels.

Not much.

Bought some 'cheep' tools at HF, and did a little hi-temp priming

I like em Joe. They look real good. Did you paint them or powder coat them?

They look good on there, Joe (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb3d.gif) ... a lot better than when they were mine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I missed AS class on Tuesday night ... did you sand blast and paint them?

Joe, those look like motor cycle windscreens. Let me guess, Yamaha R1.

BTW, I think me and hirshal are gonna try and make it to the BBQ.

Another beautiful, warm So Cal day today. Painted the 912 stuff with a low-gloss hi-temp top coat, then hung 'em high to dry ...

... then blasted and primed a dog house

Hoping to get the rest of the tins primed tomorrow - just watched the TV weatherman say we'll have a week of cold & rainy weather starting up again this coming Tuesday (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

OK, for the 914 content - packaged up some NOS 1.7L TB seals to mail out

Did someone say (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jsharp.gif) ... ?

Cars been running great, so I put it on jackstands today, took the bumpers, valances, and rockers off to paint. Took the wheels down and had my new tires mounted.

Drove Betsy over to help install a motor in a friend's 914. Plan to driver her over again tomorrow to try and start his with the new motor. I also put in a smaller battery and then stuck 14.75 gallons of gas in her.

Decided to drive her to work at 5AM. Got on the on-ramp to the freeway and SNAP! Accelerator cable is toast! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

Pulled to the side and sat there for a minute, then remembered some threads I read here a long time ago. Jumped out, pulled the remaining cable out of the tunnel and rigged it to the remainder still attached to the throttle body. Routed the cable around the oil filler and out of the grill above the relay board. Cable was long enough to reach into the cabin from the window. Drove to work in 42 degree weather on the freeway with the window down and a pair of needlenose pliers for an accelerator! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) .

Going to install the spare cable before I take the trip home. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Rattle can - Rusto semi-gloss black. The bumpers, rockers and targa will get the same treatment soon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I dropped the engine to figure out the knocking on cylinder 2, so the teener is on jack stands again.
