Picked up dads new lathe for the home workshop
We've been wanting one forever and what better time than his birthday

Nice birthday gift (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif)

On Friday, I got to drive the 'BB' out of the shop (to get to at the sheets of 4x8 luan paneling for the trailer), and got to drive it back in several hours later. Ahhh, the upside rewards of owning a [running] 914 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

You have a 914? A 914 that runs? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)

Picked up a tub from 70-914nut.
What color is this? All pics taken turn out red, but in person its orange all day long!
Bahia Red? Guess I need to look at the paint tag...

L21 on the paint code (tangerine). Looks like phoenix red was not available in 1970.

Better pic-

I searched on-line for parts to recondition the fog-lamps. Found replacement lenses and seals at 914rubber.com. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Then I took it out of the garage, so I could sweep the floor. Then I drove it around the neighborhood for about 15 minutes and put it back in the garage.

Jeremy and I almost got the trailer ceiling completed yesterday, but ran into a couple of minor snags. One more 4x8 sheet of luan paneling and a few more battens and it should be ready to transport small exotic German automobiles (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ... (as well as motorcycles, small ponies, illegal aliens, dead bodies, etc.) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

they're not "illegal"....they're "undocumented"

Sheesh. One would think that with all of the enlightened conversation we have here we could all be more sensitive to these wet-backs undocumented persons coming across the border in the dead of night by belly crawling under the darn fences, trampolining over the fence, shooting themselves out of cannons, etc.

What is hanging from your rear view? It looks like a shrunken head with a Mohawk or chicken. Is it an Andy bobble head? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif)

Very nice interior. However the feathered mask (I think) hanging from the rear-view mirror here in CA is a violation of the California Vehicle Code.

Lololololol, I know, it's not there anymore, my wife made me take it off.

BTW! It's one of those Hawaiian warrior helmets.

Oh. Just don't want to give "the man" an excuse to stop you these days when all they seem to want to do is write tickets to the "rich"....you know, those with 914's (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) who work hard and pay their taxes.

Took all the dietrus off the 914, washed the car cover and applied 2 coats od glycerin to all exterior rubber.
Yeah, it's not much, but id you're an old fart it's something. Had lots planned for the weekend but it's going to get cold again. Will probably do some parts inventorying anyway.May buy some tires, but the wife says we need paint.

Gotta get the boy on the pavement.

Still full on winter here, in between snowblowing the driveway, i was able to pull my emergency battery cutoff cable through the tunnel and back to the engine compartment and pulled a #10 wire through also, which will feed my front fuel pump relay.
Spring is not in sight highs wont see 50 or 60 for at least a few more weeks, the lakes in town still have a foot thick ice on them and up north still 3 feet thick. Last year we were playing golf in March.... I guess were paying for our late Winter as i played golf on December 4th...

I so want to drive my car again!!!!!!!!!!!

Installed JWest fog light flasher module. Now I can flash them or keep them on without my headlights being on. I think they add safety during the day and look very cool! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

After a long break of getting my 914 on the road, today I fixed my stuck wiper
- fuel tank -> out of the car
- Blower -> out of the car
- Wiper mechanism out

One of the wiper shafts was stuck after a 10 year of rust.... But now, it works like it is new again (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) No pictures taken, only of the wires that goes to the motor (Always helpfull for reconnecting)

Cheers!

Swapped parts from old engine to new long block. Got new maps diaphragm from racer Chris. Gotta like the personal touch from Tangerine. Btw, In regards to Tangerine I like the Big Head Todd cover the best.
