Did a quick repair on the relay board.
Come to find out the spade lugs on my new voltage regulator have a step on them.
Which causes you to push the female ends out thru the tar coating. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Brushed on the Plasti Dip. Let it sink down and skin up for about 10 minutes then flipped over and let in dry. I only gave it about an hour to dry.

Then I was off to an SCCA AX at PIR.

I have 4 other boards. So I think I'll strip one and give in a complete refurbish.
Just looked up new on Pelican. $491.

Let's see..this is going to a long list..
Last weekend I drove up to see my girlfriend up in San Luis Obispo. Left at 4 am, got there at 7. 3 hours is a new record for me from Pomona to SLO. Drove the car around Central Cal without any issues as normal, and almost ran it out of gas on the drive back to school..oops.

Find the 914....
(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i260.photobucket.com-9714-1366648971.2.jpg)

The weekend before, I installed a rear fog light, made a new sound pad out of foil covered synthetic sound deadening (Came out great) and then recovered the dash in felt. Everything came out great. Pictures to come later today.

Did quick clean up on the shifter.
As long as I've owned these cars I never taken the shifter apart.
I was having trouble with the 4-5 shift.

This was special. I didn't shoot any pictures of getting the springs compressed.
Basically I bowed the open end to the hole. Then slid in an M6 bolt to hold it in place then tapped the pin thu. You have to keep your thumb on spring to keep it from bowing up and out.

Oh yeah ..................gooder than new.

Had a weird experience today.

I went to the shop to unload all the stuff I didn't sell at the G&R (plus the stuff I bought) and a 911 long nose hood, then rummaged around and packed up some other parts to ship out.

I was finalizing the day's activities and walked to the front of the shop where the break room is, to close the front door that I had opened for ventilation (it's been hot down here lately). The door has a scissor gate across the opening and nobody can enter the shop from the front, but I find a guy who looked like Trevon Martin with a hoodie and a back pack sitting in there with his feet up on the table fiddling with a cell phone (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

I asked him WTF he was doing in my shop and he stumbled for words, but said something about wanting to know something about a battery. I didn't buy his story.

In any event I told him that he was trespassing and needed to get his ass out of my shop ... NOW. This guy snuck in through the back door of the shop unannounced when my back was turned and just decided to make himself at home (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Come to find out, he matches the description of a suspect who stole $1200. cash a couple of months ago from a friend's Harley repair shop in the next block over.

I alerted the other shop keepers in our facility about the incident and we'll be keeping the sliding gate to the parking lot closed, at least for the time being (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

Luckily, this guy's image was recorded on my video surveillance system and I'll be providing the LAPD with a copy.

I'm not paranoid, but it brings back memories of an awful incident that occurred on Christmas Eve morning in 2010 just a few blocks from where I live. Joseph Gosinski, owner of Chicane Sport Tuning was shot to death while working in his shop. Story link

Looks like one just can't be too careful these days ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

On a lighter note, I did touch a lot of Porsche parts today (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

I sent my wheel to Alan Gun Leather in Florida. It was not cheap. $330.00. But it was done very well and is now absolutely perfect. As good or better than when they were new from the factory.

I have used them in the past and knew it would be perfect. They take a while, but the quality is the best and it was worth it.

This was a present to myself to celebrate my first successful engine rebuild. I love the feel of a quality leather wheel when driving.

Received my SS fuel lines that I purchased from Rotary14 (Robert) and yes this fuel lines is really beautiful.

One less item to worry in igniting my teen. Hoping to install them anytime soon.

And last weekend, another toy car 2013 cooper arrived in our house (daughter's new car). Thank you God for another blessing!

Attached Image

Last April 18, 2013, we got a used 2008 cooper (maroon or red color) from local dealer but after 2 days, we decided to return it because it was a manual transmission which my daughter tried if she can still drive it well. Well she hate it but if I can just decide it for her, I would love the manual or stick shift because this cooper is really nice to drive and even for only 118hp on it, still runs so beautiful. But what can i do my daughter prepares Auto transmission. The good thing is, same amount of downpayment and monthly payment we got for the new 2013 cooper and nice color too.

My 914, for good or bad reasons, has been on stands for 6 years. Worked perfectly before that but I wanted to get it ready for the Hershey Parade. Lost job, lost time, lost interest.
Whatever, I took the cover off, peeled the heavy blanket off, expecting glorious amounnts of filth, etc.

There was a small amount of very light dust. Cleaned it off. Washed the cover and blanket. Used Meguiars Final Detail to clean the paint.

Went after the interior, expecting to find gross crud and filth - nothing! Amazing what a little careful insurance can do. No smelly interior.

Will be sent off for the injection system to be made new, but am amazed at what dry storage can inpart!
