Got around and installed the new machined taco plate and sensor. Also added some much needed light to my gauges, RIP Al.

Hey did you do that LED mod or was it done by someone else? I want to do it with Orange or red led's to match my Defi gauges.

Except factory gauges will be white faced!

I think you should create a "How to" thread, since its something I'd like to do to mine at some point as well. I've been really reluctant to tear it apart, I'd love to see how you did it as well..

I took the opportunity while watching the Indy qualifying to finally get around modifying my old Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio to accept an iPod input. Actually, a pretty easy modification, so now I'm anxious to install the radio in my 914-6, and finally get rid of the cassette player that's currently in the dash!

I painted my engine grill and installed gold letters (yes I know a 73 should have chrome but I like gold)

I regret not taking pictures during this conversion. I'm willing to do a detailed write up if someone mails me their gauges along with 2 of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181132106216?ssPag...984.m1497.l2649

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) Scored a seat in great shape with no issues at pick and pull in Newark, Ca today. When I first saw it in the car I thought it would would have some type of issue but upon further inspection It was in great shape. it is already cleaned and in my car. Even though I didn't win the Power-ball last night I still feel lucky today.

Old seat is on the left.

Finally got my bumpers, rockers, and valances painted last weekend, got them installed today. Also ordered a pertronix igniter II, some pilot driving lights, and a new targa seal. Once those arrive and are installed I'll be ready for WCR (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Cleaned 40 years of crud from underneath of trunk. A leaky push rod tube had made a greasy mess. All push rod tube seals were replaced. Got cleaning materials from Home Depot. I put a plastic bag around starter and solenoid to avoid it getting wet. Wear gloves and goggles to avoid getting in eyes. While not perfect it is a start and looks a zillion times better! A clean drive train is a happy drive train (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

When I was younger and had ['spare'] time, I'd detail the engine compartments in my cars every other weekend (IMG:style_emoticons/default/FERG.gif)

Edit: Time is now: 20th May 2013 - 06:36 PM

Had an appointment with the eye doctor, who's office is fairly close to the shop. They gave me some of those funky sunglasses, so I cautiously drove to the shop - said 'HI' to all the cars, then came home to rest my eyes.

Google 'Finger' while you're at it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif)

Of course I am serious, unless it is a photoshop or rubber replica. I am not trying to piss you off. It is just that there are strong ethical guidelines about the use of cadavers and showing them off is at the top of the do not do list. The ideas are based on promises made to the dying.

I thought conceptually your post was funny, so nothing personal. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/parry.gif)

... and I really should have posted a (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) at the end of my reply to your post. It too, was meant to be of a 'funny' nature.

Being that the A&L pic appears to have price tags (in British pounds), I didn't think they were actually real (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

I have been afflicted with the same sense of humor that Johnny Carson suffered from ... finding something funny in almost any life situation ... and vocal about it.

I put in my windshield today. Used 5/16 butyl tape. It went well. Nice clean glass just has some fog alon the bottom. I got it from an old timer right nearby. saw an ad on craigslist for a windshield for 100$ sweet just what I needed. Hes got some other parts and a rust bucket but wants more than I want to pay for something I dont need.
