I completed my goal... Got it running in time for Monday so I could drive my own car to work.

The best advice I ever got about these cars was to never ride or drive a 914-6.. I didn't listen, and man do these get expensive quick..

Still need to do some carb tuning and I need to wire in the msd box, but for now, I can drive the 5 miles to work no problem.

Good Job, Ethan. Wish I was that far along. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I see you had your tow truck driver riding shotgun. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Hooked up the 73 steering in the 70 tub. The wheels turn! What a novel idea.

Painted my top. Used the same SEM Bumper Coater (39103) that I used on fiberglass bumper tops.

The top looks great - mine needs this. What was the specific SEM color code you used?

This is not what I did to my Teener, it's more like what I did for Teeners! Did/Doing some 3D CADD today for someone and this is what my desk looks like. There are only a few things pictured here that I have not modeled.

Still working the honey-doo list - so no car work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Some friends of ours are moving to Alabama and they said they're not planning to drive their '67 DD bug there. They said we could have it for $1k (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

My wife did a total about face and is actually considering it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

... and I have a couple of 'spare' 912 motors here (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Finally got my car on the dolly. Now I can begin to see what really needs to be cut in order to fit this motor.

Finished connecting my new gauges. I am especially fond of the boost gauge in the bottom of the period correct Tach.

Loaded up the truck with bottles & cans to recycle ... got $57. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ... then proceeded to Mike's (mharmon) to spend $40 of it on a nice set of fog light grilles. (Thanks Mike) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I spotted a green '74 parked in a driveway a few blocks away from Mike's. I had seen it before, just forgot 'where' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Decided to stop on the way home and introduce myself. Belongs to a gentleman (John), said it was his DD for quite a few years, not so much these days. Needs a little body work, rusty partial cowl and R. F. fender ... I recommended Milt (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif)

Attached Image

I also provided John with 914World info, so hopefully he'll join the forum (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Also stopped at my friend Aaron's to snap a few of the '67 bug we might buy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Attached Image

Needs a new rear apron and some other minor body work, also needs new seat covers and headliner ...

EDIT: We bought it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Aaron's wife, Donna, affectionately calls it the 'Tomater'

Drove the car to Home Depot to pick up a dremel bit. Decided to take the highway and stretch it's legs.

Got on right behind another 914! What are the odds?

He had some funky wheels and a plate that said "Lotus F1" I think.

I'm taking the car to the local autocross tomorrow.

After being out of town for 10 days, decided to drive 914 before it rains again. We have been getting record rainfall for four months. Started to rain 30 minutes after getting home! After sitting for 10 days, started less than second!
