I just wanted to have the original hood release, did not know how much work it would turn into. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) But, it's gone to look good when I am done. Finished connecting my new gauges. I am especially fond of the boost gauge in the bottom of the period correct Tach.

BOOST gauge? Turbo???

There is another reason for needing a boost gauge? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Drove it to Monterey. Went to Bonhams auction, down to Carmel to see the Pebble Beach cars tour, over to Haggerty seminar, walked through the RM and Russo and Steele auction cars then finished up at Mecum auctions. The owner of the 1931 Bentley let Nolan take the wheel of his car. The value of this car is 4.5 to 5 million dollars. Thank god he did not break anything while in there. The 914/6 ran well for the day.

Came to the Legends of the Autobahn and took "the wife's". Bumblebee. The PCA organizer Paul placed the Bumblebee in a special interest section of the event. We were placed behind the Rothmans 911 Dakar rally weapon and next to an Audi R8 LE Mans car. The Bumblebee will cause both those cars to rust. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . Hurley came and too a picture with Nolan and then let Nolan sit in his car.

I drove down to Huntington Beach to pick up a r/r fender and a engine decklid for the '67 bug (no dents, no bondo) $80. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Started the car, backed it out of the garage, smelled gas, searched and found a leak, fixed said leak, decided not to go for a drive until I check all the fuel lines, put it back in the garage. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

I've had my car up on jackstands for two weeks, put it up a couple of weeks ago to start getting it ready for my trip at the end of the month. Last Monday went to the range and hit some balls, hadn't played for a couple of years, by Thursday my back was getting tight, fri - mon I was flat on my back (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif) guess I won't try that again soon.

Went back to work this week, still taking it easy.
Finally felt good today, got my valves adjusted, finally got my tuna can installed, oil/filter change, fixed my speedo angle drive leak, thanks for the part McMark (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)
New plugs, air filter, cap/rotor. Set the timing, adjusted the idle. (No points)

Cars running awesome, taking it for a drive tomorrow to check it out, then just some clean up and packing, we'll see how she hold up, 12 days on the road and a little over 4000 miles, guess I'll need a tune up and oil change when I get back too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
